Supporting the Next Generation of Skilled Trades in the Golden Isles

At White Star Supply, supporting our community means more than providing dependable plumbing supplies, electrical supplies, lighting, and contractor-grade materials. It also means investing in the people who will shape the future of the trades.
That’s why White Star Supply recently donated $5,000 to the Golden Isles College & Career Academy Foundation through the PEACH Education Tax Credit.
The program allows Georgia businesses to direct eligible state tax dollars toward career and technical education, helping local students gain exposure to skilled trades and prepare for careers in their own communities.
For White Star, that makes a lot of sense.
Investing in the Future of the Skilled Trades
Every day, we work with builders, contractors, electricians, plumbers, designers, and other professionals who depend on skilled people to keep projects moving.
Whether the job calls for electrical materials, plumbing fixtures, lighting, PVC pipe, or other contractor-grade supplies, the products are only part of the equation. The trades depend on knowledgeable, capable people who understand how to get the work done safely and correctly.
Supporting career education helps introduce students to those opportunities earlier and gives them a clearer path into fields that are essential to the Golden Isles and Coastal Georgia.
That can mean careers in:
- Electrical work
- Plumbing
- Construction
- Building and renovation
- Lighting and fixture installation
- Maintenance and facility operations
- Other skilled trades
For local builders and contractors, developing the next generation of tradespeople helps strengthen the workforce they will depend on in the years ahead.
Why Career Education Matters Locally
The Golden Isles continues to grow, and that growth depends on skilled labor.
New construction, home renovation, commercial development, multifamily projects, repairs, and property maintenance all require trained professionals. Local electricians, plumbers, builders, and contractors need a strong pipeline of people who are interested in learning those skills and building careers here.
Programs like the Golden Isles College & Career Academy help connect students with practical career pathways while they are still in school.
That creates opportunities for students, but it also benefits the larger community. A stronger local workforce supports local businesses, helps projects stay on schedule, and keeps valuable skills and talent right here in the Golden Isles.
More Than a Supply House
White Star Supply has always been built around serving the people who do the work.
Our customers come to us for plumbing supplies, electrical supplies, lighting, plumbing fixtures, electrical materials, and contractor-grade products, but they also rely on our team for experience, service, and dependable support.
That same people-first approach is why investing in trades education matters to us.
The future of the industry depends on more than the products sitting on the shelf. It depends on the next electrician, plumber, builder, technician, and contractor who decides to learn a trade and build a career.
Supporting the Golden Isles College & Career Academy Foundation is one way we can help make those opportunities more accessible to local students.
Building What’s Next
We’re proud to support programs that prepare students for meaningful careers and help strengthen the skilled-trades workforce in Coastal Georgia.
Investing in local students means investing in the future of our community — and in the builders, contractors, electricians, plumbers, and other professionals who will keep the Golden Isles moving forward.
For us, that’s an easy decision.
White Star Supply is proud to support the next generation of skilled tradespeople in the Golden Isles.
